Upcoming Friday, June 4, I hope to meet you at the first Rotterdam edition of the famous event TEDx which takes place at the Luxor Theater. TEDx is a program of events that brings people together to share the TED experience. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. The ‘x’ represents independently organized event. TEDx is everywhere and is always an unique and exclusive event. TEDxRotterdam shall maintain this exclusivity. A selected group of 500 guests were invited to the event at ‘t Nieuwe Luxor theatre.

We gaan we niet meer alleen met onze pc vrij surfen op het net, maar leven steeds meer in het net. Wie over straat loopt, draagt een onzichtbare digitale identiteit met zich mee. Gewapend met pasjes, mobieltjes en voertuigen laten we zien wie we zijn, dat we daar mogen zijn en dat we daar ook voor betaald hebben. Maar wat we niet zien is hoe deze apparaten informatie met elkaar uitwisselen via het internet. Wat zijn de mogelijkheden en gevolgen?

Yes according to Dan Roam. See for yourself in the video below. I think he has some very powerful tips but I do think these could be more effective using mindmaps (on the back of a napkin). Especially if you are trying to build a shared mental model. In my experience if you use Dan’s tips in combination with Tony’s tips (Buzan) and build it interactively with your audience you will become much more succesful in establishishing a dialogue with your (business)partners in such a way that the shared mental model that you have build together will support better communication decision making and knowledge gathering.
